The Philosophy of Rose and Thorn
The name Rose and Thorn reflects a simple truth about life: we all experience moments of beauty and growth (the roses) alongside challenges and pain (the thorns). Both are part of the human experience, and both can shape our path forward.
As a licensed therapist, I also bring lived experience to the work I do. At one point in my life, I was diagnosed with several anxiety disorders and found myself struggling in ways that felt overwhelming. I ultimately made the difficult decision to enter a medical detox program to safely come off a benzodiazepine medication that had originally been prescribed by a physician.
After teaching psychology at the college level for 18 years, I reached a point where I knew I needed clarity about my next chapter. I hired a life coach who helped me reflect on my values, strengths, and the direction I wanted my life to take. That process played an important role in helping me realign my path.
Today, I’m also a mom of two kids, a dog mom, and a wife. Like many people, there was a time when life felt completely unmanageable. Those experiences shaped my commitment to helping others navigate overwhelm, anxiety, and uncertainty.
I am passionate about helping people find greater stability in their work, improve time management, and build practical systems for overall wellness. My goal is to support others in moving through their own “thorns” so they can experience more balance, confidence, and calm in everyday life.
